I am german but I will write in english, so that almost everyone can read my blog.
Namaste!
I'm a professional Photographer and Yoga teacher based in Berlin in Germany and India.
Because I have more an Artist kind of Soul, I can't be in the role of a business woman.
But I found my soul mate, Hari. A Yogi from Nepal, living in India. Now we are doing together our Yoga school. :)
Have a look at https://shreehariyoga.com
I really do love my job and I love Berlin, but only in summer. You can see in Berlin all kind of cultures and people are very happy in this time. Its amazing! :o)
But I don`t like this mostly cold mentality of the people and the rainy weather in Germany.
That is why I will move to India and try to do something new, I like to explore the world more!
It is often said that we don’t find yoga, but that yoga finds us.
That something in our life, in the universe, responds to our readiness to benefit from what yoga has to offer us and then presents us with an invitation. Our willingness to accept that invitation is entirely up to us. How receptive we are to such an invitation usually reflects what kind of perceptions we have of yoga.
People’s views of this can be innumerous!
The recent explosion of yoga’s popularity around the globe has portrayed yoga in so many various shades and colors that finding the most authentic yoga may pose (no pun intended) a challenge. So what gives yoga its authenticity? Is there such a thing as the original yoga, and the original yoga teacher?
In studying the ancient Sanskrit texts in which the word yoga first appeared, one observes that its usage was quite broad. Contrary to what some may think, the definition of yoga was not restricted to the bodily postures most of the western world associates it with, but rather, it encompassed a wide range of ways to connect with one’s highest potential. It also expanded beyond that into descriptions of what such evolved states of being felt like.
About me and how Yoga slowly found me
I hope you will understand why I write this here. I will let you know, that in the worst case szenario also, you can find a way out. ...My life was`nt easy, but I really lived! Ones I was a Goth, also a Punk, ...I was some time homeless and I had problems in many other ways... but somehow I got some help from the universe to change my life.
After my technical college for Graphic-Design I had only a few smal jobs in Plauen.
During this time I met people who teached me realy a lot about life and about how to do business. I began to understand people through experiance and thinking about it. I understood that everybody want the same, but act different to get it. Everyone had his or her own truth in the mind and tried to convince the people about there own reality, that THIS and only THIS is the truth. ... I only realized that later... . With 25, after I read some books like "Siddhartha" and "The cafe on the edge of the world" some thoughts about living my life came into my mind. There must be something more, what is the aim? I don`t like to be attached by others people meaning who tell me how I have to live my life. This time finally I understood... Yes, I got it! Everything I was going through was only to get experience, a teaching about life and to understand more about everything. In any situation, always we learn something. Even the worst pain, everything began to make sense somehow. I was reading severall times about it in the book and about how importand it is to move foreward, to travel, roundabout ways and final success. I got butterflies in my stomach when I was thinking about traveling or going away.
The city became too small for me and I fellt that I need to move on to change my life.
Berlin came into my mind, I always liked it, even when I was a Kid and we visited my aunt there. In this time, when I had this thought to move, I met an actor in Plauen from Berlin. We needed him for an Clip, against a political right Nazi demonstration.
You can see the result here: :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYI88iclPCM&index=52&list=FLBiKoAdrKqLYMbibQN_nsdA
We became friends and I visited him and my Cousin in Berlin. I had no doubt anymore to leave Plauen.
I fellt safe to move, I know now some people in this big City, so I wouldn`t be alone there. Best decision I`ve could do in this time!
Berlin is not only for Party good, also it is rich on Art and Parks and natural, beautiful places. Everything seems possible.
Arrived in Berlin I met so many awesome people. People who I didn`t know much, came to help me with renovation and moving.
I did couchsurfing to find a flat and met a great friend and great singer "Ani" and a funny spanish Guy, who helped me at the beginning a lot with renovation and driving my some flat stuff, like my loft bed I bought in my new home. Without him I wouldn`t know how to manage everything. :-P... Oh about my flat, I found a WG in "Kreuzkölln" wich I shared with a mexican Guy. Its so crazy, after my room was finnished the spanish guy disappeared. Mostly people come and go, but it is ok. Some are still friends.
I got the possibility because of my new mexican flatmate to get to know about Yoga. But first I was not so much interested.
Few days after my room was furnished, I met through couchsurfing some more people. Parrish, a guy from LA, Nicole, a girl from Switzerland and through her I met Jay from South India, who is my Boyfriend now. :o) After around half an year we moved in a WG to Tempelhof in Berlin, together with Aleksa from Serbia. Every Character had a big role in my life and I feel blessed it happened to me. Jay is the biggest Blessing which I got, he is like a teacher for me and inspire me always.
Step by step I learn always more:
First I learned better english with Parrish and Jay through talking to them. Than I got introduced to Yoga, I decided I will never pay for Spirituality or Yoga (wich is highly spiritual for me), than through different "Co-accidents" it came to me, I went for free to the Yoga festival, won a 2 weeks "Art of living" Course, where I learned my first propper Pranayamas and different meditation, than I could go for free to the Vedanta Camp because of Contacts, than Swamiji from the Yogafestival stayed with us almost 4 weeks and teached Bhagavad Gita, Symbolism and Samkhya Philosophy. And finaly I found accidently "S-VYASA" where I study now in the Internet. I told Jay, "if I would not have my new Job, I would go there to study Yoga" - few days later I lost my Job. What a sign I was thinking and applied there. And without all this new Knowledge I got in this short time, it would be not possible for me, that I am sure about. Know I got the preparation to go to India and study. :o)
What I will tell you with all this, is that all my actions I did, came in some ways back to me. (Karma)
All what will happen to us, is in within, thoughts become true and when we think negative, than negative things will come to us and happen. But whenever we believe in us deeply and think positive without doubts, we will experiance more success and become more happy. There is a inner and a outer world. (Jnana - real knowleadge)
For us, only our own thoughts and reality feels "REAL", right? But why is this so?
Maybe because I am very soft or because I have a twin brother, I feel mostly also others emotions too much.
Maybe you can feel this too, I don`t know, I write only about my experiance. But the point is, when we realize our aim of live,
when we feel conected with other people, nature, our world, when we love more than hate, and feel more happy than feeling sad, because we appreciate more and take not all for granted, we are on the path of our self-realization and live becomes an advenure and makes us more and more happy!
Fortunately, Yoga came into my life. I met many awesome people and because of my own rules, that I will trust in life and if possible never spend money for spiritual things, I never had to this untill now. I went to the Yogafestival, helped here and there a little and also after this to the vedanta camp. At the Yoga festival I won a "Art of living" workshop, what was the one week happiness program. I practise almost every morning before breakfeast at home or outside in the garden Yoga. It feels so good and everybody can do the same. There are good tutorials in web and Yoga meeting groups. (couchsurfing, facebook, meetup...)
I don't want to dream my life, I'm living my dream.
That's why I'm going to give up everything and move to India.
To do the Yoga teacher training and a Diploma in Yoga Theraphy for 15 month. What is after this? ... I don`t know, let`s see! :-D
Why I like to change my life now?
Because live is so beautiful and as time goes on, try to stay open to exploring your inside world. After all, an unhealthy mind truly is the root of all our suffering and the one element we can learn to have control over (excluding those who suffer from mental illness).
Why we are here? - What is the purpose of life? - To figgure out this is my big aim.
"Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.
